Whale and Dolphin Conservation and Wild in Art will jointly bring up to 35 fun, colourful, life-size bottlenose dolphin sculptures to the city's streets, parks and neighbourhoods between August and October 2021.
Each of the dolphin sculptures will be sponsored by a local company (or companies) and then brought to life by a talented local artist. To complement the main trail, schools and community groups are invited to design and decorate their own baby dolphin, which will form part of an indoor trail in high-profile locations throughout the city.
After the dolphins come together in one place for a final splash at the Farewell Weekend (October 2021) they will take centre stage at a glittering charity auction to raise funds to support Whale and Dolphin Conservation's work.
Details of how to join the pod as a sponsor, artist, school or community group can be found on the Whale and Dolphin Conservation website or by emailing the Project Director Sharon Stevenson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
